It is also an excellent time to download building intelligence from personnel that know it into a tool that is shareable by all agencies and personnel that may respond to a facility emergency. Industrial sites often anticipate fire as a potential hazard and feature engineered built-in systems, such as detection/suppression systems and on-site water supplies, to protect against it. Incidents at many commercial and industrial facilities can pose many challenges and hazards, which include not only fire, but also explosions and over-pressures, electrocution, pressurized fires and exposure to noise and chemicals. Presented by Greg Jakubowski: Greg Jakubowski is a licensed fire protection engineer in 3 states, having worked for more than 35 years in the consulting, sprinkler, insurance, and pharmaceutical industries working on project teams for over $3BB (USD) in projects in the US, Europe and Asia. He holds a B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland, and a M.S. in Public Safety from St. Joseph's University. Greg also has decades of service as a fire chief officer, serving in volunteer and combination fire departments in several counties in 2 states. He has authored more than 150 articles, presented at numerous local and national conferences, and instructed programs to thousands of students on 5 continents. He chairs the NFPA 1620 Pre-Incident Planning Committee, and participates on 2 other committees. He is a partner in Fire Planning Associates, Inc., a company dedicated to assisting both private and public agencies with dealing with challenging fire protection and safety issues and specializing in preplanning buildings and other complex target hazards using their Blazemark software product.
